Listen to Avenged Sevenfold’s latest release: Set Me Free

It seems like the legends are back! It’s been a year since we’ve heard of A7X and now they are back with a new power ballad called ”Set me free”. The song is an ureleased track from their sixth album ”Hail To The King” and fans couldn’t be any happier.

Although the vocalist of the band, M. Shadows, had some issues when he discovered he had a blood blister on his vocal chords the previous summer and the band had to cancel multiple shows while on tour with Prophets of Rage and Three Days Grace , the ”Bat Country” lyricists are coming stronger than ever with a 6-and-a-half-minute ride that has some beautiful harmonized guitar solos and Shadows killing it in the vocals. The song was originally recorded in 2013 featuring their previous drummer Arin Ilejay and will be included in their latest collection release ”Diamond in the Rough” which is coming in February 7th. The collection includes many unreleased songs they’ve made during the decade.

The band has been staying silent on social media lately and that’s because, apart from the collection, they are focusing on the making of their new album coming in late 2020 as guitarist Zacky Vengeace reported. Their previous album, ”The Stage” which was Avenged’s debut for Capitol, got some backlash, even though it was a surprise album, mainly because they seemed to have experimented with their sound a little more than they should have and fans weren’t happy about it. The lyric content is also different as the band evolves, which makes us wonder how the next album is going to be.
